AUTHENTICITY AT ITS PEAK

 

"When women get together as a group, it is immensely powerful", anyone who comes across the MOHWA Buea women can be pushed to think these words of Annie Lennox were said in praise of them. The impact of this togetherness and unity is reflected in their numerous philanthropic and humanitarian activities carried out all year round not leaving out the fight against COVID-19 which the women are very conscious of. This, can be seen in the preventive measures they take when hosting their monthly meetings and gatherings, such as the wearing of face masks, social distancing and the usage of hand sanitizers.

 In their most recent meeting held in October, the women hosting did not only put on face masks, they also went ahead, in the spirit of unity, to put on matching t-shirts, black trousers, and aprons alongside protective hair bonnets made from the Kente African fabric.

     

This beautiful innovation worth emulating, goes a long way to showcase the creativity and ingenuity of the MOHWA Buea women despite the pandemic and also exhibits their passion for authenticity. It also serves as a call and a reminder to the world that COVID-19 is real therefore everyone should strive to protect themselves and others.
